Dwain was raised in the Kansas City, Missouri area and spent most of his life there until moving to the lake area two years ago.

Dwain made a profession of faith and was a pastor of Olivet Baptist Church in Olathe, Kansas for many years until he retired. After he had retired from preaching he started to work in sales in the Kansas City area where he had won many awards.
