Janice Louise Anderson

Janice Louise Anderson, daughter of Shelby Ray and Pebble Eidson Coffey, was born, August 11, 1940 near Macks Creek, Missouri. She departed this life, January 22, 2017, in her home, Camdenton, Missouri at the age of seventy-six years, five months and eleven days.

On August 26, 1961 near Macks Creek, Missouri she was united in marriage to Clovis "Corkey" Eugene Anderson. Together they shared fifty-five beautiful years of marriage.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, John Hooper and two sisters-in-law, Betty Coffey and Pat Vance.

She is survived by her husband, Clovis "Corkey" Anderson of the home; a brother, Carl Coffey of Macks Creek, Missouri; a sister, Shirley Hooper of Warrensburg, Missouri; two brothers-in-law, Larry Anderson and wife Gayla and Dennis Anderson and wife Dorothy both of Buffalo, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Grace Vanausdall and husband Randy of Alma, Illinois and Kathy Frye of Buffalo, Missouri and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Janice grew up and lived near Macks Creek until the age of eighteen. She was a graduate of Macks Creek High School. When she was a sophomore in high school, she got her first job at Pat’s Café and this is where she met Corkey, the love of her life. Later she worked at Connie’s Dinner House, then managed the Hopi Motel for over five years and also worked at the Lan-O-Lake Motel. During this time, she also took exceptional care of Corkey’s grandmother.

Janice was saved in a revival meeting at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church as a young girl. She later joined Parrack Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she remained a member until her death.

Janice was blessed with the talent of playing the piano by ear. She could hear a song once and then play it on the piano. She enjoyed playing at Parrack Grove church, and did so for many years, as long as health permitted. She also loved growing beautiful flowers, especially roses. She had even won Yard of the Year. She also collected dolls. Her pride and joy was her red 1971 Mercury Marquee which she had till just a short time ago.

Janice was blessed with a beautiful smile that everyone will always remember. She also has made many wonderful memories for Corkey and all of her family to treasure. She was a loving wife, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and caring neighbor and friend.
