Adrian Zeimet

ADRIAN ZEIMET Adrian John Zeimet, son of John Michael and Leonette Althoff Zeimet, was born, March 1, 1934 in Dubuque, Iowa. He departed this life, Wednesday, September 25, 2013, surrounded by his family, in his home, Sunrise Beach, Missouri at the age of seventy-nine years, six months and twenty-four days. On January 19, 1993 in Las Vegas, Nevada, he was united in marriage to Nancy Elaine Davis. Together they shared twenty years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Bernard, Tom and Clem Zeimet; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Zeimet and the mother of his children, Gloria Zeimet. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Zeimet of Sunrise Beach, Missouri; children, Frank Zeimet and wife Kim of Kearney, Missouri, John Zeimet and wife Joyce of Camdenton, Missouri, Robert Zeimet and wife Barb of Desoto, Wisconsin, Holly James and husband Chris of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, Cathy Stevenson and husband Bob of Desoto, Wisconsin, Shawn Wikoff of Kansas City, Missouri, Kenny Zeimet of San Pedro, California, Jill Chadwick and companion Mike Carroll of Eldon, Missouri, Conni Bruce of Basalt, Colorado, Teresa Jandrey and husband Tim of Gilbert, Minnesota, David Faiferlick and wife Karen of Osage Beach, Missouri and Debra Zeimet of Waukon, Wisconsin; twenty-eight grandchildren, Kayla, Hayden, Patrick, Christina, Sarah, Rebecca, Adrian John "A.J.", Courtney, Ethan, Danny, Nathan, Eric, Whitney, Alex, Brandi, Blair, Kelly Jack "K.J", Katrina, Tucker, Ryan, Tyler, Traci, Jordan, Sarah, Conner, Grant, Reagan and Nick; thirteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary McCarthy of Dubuque, Iowa and Regina Collins of Rockford, Illinois; a brother, James Zeimet and wife Jean of Hastings, Minnesota; a sister-in-law, Darline Zeimet of Lansing, Iowa and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Adrian was raised on a farm near Lansing, Iowa and graduated from St. George School in Lansing. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. After being honorably discharged, he went to work for Stark Sporting Goods in Prairie Du Chien, Wisconsin. Six years later he opened his own marina there. After being flooded out for three years in a row, he went to work for Mercury Marine, Brunswick Corporation as a technical rep; traveling nine states calling on Mercury Marine Dealers. In 1982, he and Nancy opened Valentine Marine Service at Lake of the Ozarks. Adrian served on the Fire and Rescue squad in Prairie Du Chien, Wisconsin. He was on the Marine Service Technology Board at Lake Career and Technical Center for thirty years. He was also a member of the Lake West Chamber of Commerce and helped run the Buddy Bass Tournament for twenty years. Adrian was baptized into the Catholic Church and was a member of Wexford Immaculate Conception Church in Wexford, Iowa. He loved being outdoors hunting, fishing and farming. He was a PBR Rodeo fan and enjoyed cooking and traveling. He had a knack for building fires and his friends referred to him as "Houdini" given his ability to disappear with no one noticing. He was a talented man who could fix anything. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. Graveside services and military honors will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 28, 2013 in Garber Memorial Estates, Laurie. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:30 p.m., Friday in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home with a Rosary service beginning at 7:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the family, Hospice Compassus or Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and left at the funeral home. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
