Amalie Bohmer

Amalie Marie Bohmer, daughter of Karl Hermann and Karolina Hedwig Eberlein DuPlesis, was born November 10, 1926 in Manheim, Germany. She departed this life Thursday, April 23, 2009 in Windsor Estates, Camdenton, Missouri at the age of eighty-two years, five months and thirteen days. On April 10, 1950, she was united in marriage to Robert Amos Bohmer. He preceded her in death on October, 1991. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Elizabeth Karola DuPlesis and Christel Paula DuPlesis. Survivors include her son, Michael Bohmer and wife Coleen of Sunrise Beach, Missouri; two granddaughters, Stephanie Orkowski and husband Jason and Amanda Leigh Bohmer both of Verona, Wisconsin; two great-grandchildren, Owen Michael Orkowski and Emmett Charles Orkowski and many friends. Amalie was raised in Germany and after school worked as a nurse. She moved to the United States in the late 1940's and settled in Troy, Missouri. While in Troy, she worked as a Sales Clerk for Carp's for many years. She moved to the lake area in 2002. She made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Community Christian Church in Camdenton. Amalie loved cooking. She was true to her heritage and made excellent German food. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was a caring neighbor and friend. We are thankful for the many wonderful memories he created for his family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 9, 2009 in Community Christian Church, Camdenton. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee and left at the funeral home or the church the day of the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton.
