ART MUDD Arthur Detlef Mudd, Jr., son of Arthur Detlef Mudd Sr. and Stephanie Hruszak Mudd, was born, March 30, 1941 in Orange, New Jersey. He departed this life, Wednesday, March 9, 2011, in his home, Macks Creek, Missouri at the age of sixty-nine years, eleven months and nine days. On February 23, 1963 in Newton, New Jersey, he was united in marriage to Shirley Clare Fantino and to this union five children were born. Together they shared forty-eight years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Mudd of the home; five children, Michelle Green of Jefferson City, Missouri, Sheila Clouse of Ely, Minnesota, Arthur D. Mudd III of Nixa, Missouri, Paul Mudd and wife Melissa of Nixa, Missouri and Colette Creach and husband Culley of Linn Creek, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Steven and Megan Green, Jaydin and Colton Clouse, Jackie Mudd, Heather Blose, Shantell Mudd and Jonas and Stephanie Creach; five great-grandchildren, Hailey Walters-Green, Ashton Hynson, and Kaylyn, Makayla and Kaiden Schubert; a sister, Carolyn Doherty and husband Eamon of Alpharetta, Georgia; two brothers, Richard Mudd and wife Nancy of West Caldwell, New Jersey and Bill Mudd and wife Christina of Rockaway, New Jersey and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Arthur was raised in West Caldwell, New Jersey and attended school there. After his marriage to Shirley, they spent their honeymoon in California. Having liked California so much, they made their home there and lovingly raised their children. Art worked for a Chrysler dealership for many years. They moved to the Branch, Missouri area in 1978. While in Missouri, he continued his career with another Chrysler dealership. He retired in 1990. In his spare time he enjoyed being a ham radio operator. He loved fishing and in his younger years, he enjoyed being a member of a local gun club. He was very handy at fixing things around the house and in his later years became an excellent cook. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 21, 2011 in St. Anthony Catholic Church. Memorial donations may be made to Catholic Charities USA and left at the funeral home or the church the day of the seervice. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
