Bernice Maxine Patton Hood, daughter of John Lenard and Velma Victoria Rodgers Burns, was born October 8, 1928 in Linn Creek, Missouri. She departed this life Monday, November 28, 2016 in Laurie Care Center, Laurie, Missouri, at the age of eighty-eight years, one month, and twenty days. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, and the father of her children, Jesse Patton; her husband, Tom Hood; a daughter, Barbara Fields; and a son, Marty Patton; her siblings, Kennith, Charles, LeRoy, Estel, JT, Beverly, Carolyn, Harold, Earl, and Dean. She is survived by her children, Roger Patton and wife Rhonda, of Climax Springs, Missouri, Darrell Patton and significant other, Janice Duncan, of Kaiser, Missouri, Jeff Patton and wife, Phyllis, of Camdenton, Missouri, Paula Johnson and husband Leroy, of Springfield, Missouri, Jessie Armstrong and husband Garland, of Newburg, Missouri, Mark Patton and wife Sheila, of Edwards, Missouri, Dwayne Patton and significant other, Mayme Booker, of Osage Beach, Missouri, and Wade Patton and wife Tracie, of Urbana, Missouri; twenty-two grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; a brother, Eldon Burns and wife Jane, of Edwards, Missouri; a number of nieces, nephews, as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends. Bernice spent the majority of her life living in the Barnumton and Climax Springs area. She worked for many years as a housekeeper in many local resorts. She had accepted Christ as her Savior and was a member of Living Word Pentecostal Church of God in Climax Springs. Bernice was a woman of deep faith and had a love for Christ that most should envy. In her spare time, Bernice enjoyed fishing, cooking, gardening, raising chickens, and spending time with her family. Bernice was a loving mother, granny, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories she has created for her family and many dear friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 2, 2016 in Living Word Pentecostal Church of God in Climax Springs, Missouri. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 1, 2016 in the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri. Burial will follow in the Climax Springs Cemetery. Donations may be made to the LAMB House and may be left at the funeral home on Thursday evening.
