CARL HALL Carl Revere Hall passed into eternal life and glory in the realm of his loving Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 23, 2015, attended by his beloved wife of seventy years, Velda, and his sons. He was born May 1, 1925 to Clayton and Genevieve Hall in Flat Rock, Illinois. He lost his mother at age five, and his father later married her half-sister, Helen, in order to keep the family together during the depths of the Great Depression. She lovingly raised her sister’s children as her own and gave them two brothers as well. These parents were there to greet him in Heaven when he arrived. He is survived by his devoted wife; sons, David, Timothy and Mark; daughter-in-law, Shannon; brothers, Ray, Dick, and Kenneth; sister, Norma Gene Thomas and grandchildren, Rebecca Hall, Rachel Estes, and Jordan Hall. He proudly served his country in the 8th Air Force, 351st Bomber Group, flying thirty-five combat missions in a B-17 over Germany during WWII as a flight engineer, earning the rank of Master Sergeant. Shortly after his honorable discharge, he enrolled in college, UI Champagne-Urbana, and married “The Most Beautiful Girl In The World,” a moniker that, incidentally, remained in frequent use, unaltered over the course of the ensuing seven decades. He graduated as an electrical engineer in 3 ½ years, 3rd in his class, and began a stellar business career at Allis Chalmers, where he climbed the corporate ladder for the next 28 years. He left to become the president of TKI, Inc., and later the president and CEO of AC Compressor Corp. His greatest joy was helping people. He had an enormous heart filled with boundless love for his fellow man, and his generosity was legendary. It always came with a piece of very sound advice: Put your faith in God, and put God first, which is the way he lived his own life. During his final illness, the family was aided by caregivers, Chrissy Burke and Cheryl Harris. Their loving compassion and tireless devotion are deeply appreciated. Please join us in celebrating this extraordinary life at a memorial service that will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 5, 2015 in New Life Church of the Nazarene. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Program and left at the funeral home or the church the day of the service. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
