DOROTHY ANN BAILEY Dorothy Ann Bailey, daughter of Lester and Alice Mitchell Waldo, was born, September 22, 1930 in Maplewood, Missouri. She departed this life, Wednesday, March 24, 2010, in her home, Camdenton, Missouri at the age of seventy-nine years, six months and two days. On December 16, 1949, she was united in marriage to Glenwood Bailey and to this union six children were born. Together they shared fifty-five years until his passing on September 8, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Mitchell David Bailey and a sister, Pauline Palecek. Survivors include her children, Michael Bailey and wife Judy of Middleville, Michigan, Leslie Richer and husband George of Camdenton, Missouri, Mark Bailey of Caledonia, Michigan, Leigh Pennock and husband Mark of Freeport, Michigan and Laura Weaver of Camdenton, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Amanda Bailey, Jason Pennock, Jesse Pennock, Tiffany Bailey, Anna Joyce Bailey, Michala Bailey, Brittany Weaver and Glenwood Daniel Weaver; two great-grandchildren, Bailey and Draven Pennock; a brother, David Waldo and wife Judy of St. Clair, Missouri; many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Dorothy was raised in Kirkwood, Missouri and graduated from Herculaneum High School in the class of 1948. After her marriage to Glenwood, they made their home in House Springs, Missouri. In 1972 they moved to St. Clair, Missouri. They later lived in Grand Rapids, Michigan and retired back to Missouri in 1994. Besides being a mother and help-mate to her husband, she worked as a manager for Ken's Paint and Decorating in Sullivan, Missouri for several years. Dorothy attended the United Church of Christ in High Ridge, Missouri. Being a mother with a large family occupied most of Dorothy's time, however, when she did find free time, she enjoyed reading and crafts. She was very artistic and enjoyed crocheting and sewing. Most of all, she enjoyed time spent with her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 29, 2010 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Christian Healthcare Hospice and left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton.
