Dorothy Lorraine Anderson, daughter of Henry Lemuel and Rebecca Ellen Conner Strange, was born, March 2, 1926 in Old Bagnell, Missouri. She departed this life, Sunday, September 22, 2019, in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri at the age of ninety-three years, six months and twenty days.

On July 10, 1944, she was united in marriage to Fred Rex Anderson and to this union five children were born. Together they shared fifty-four years of marriage before his passing on December 18, 1998.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her granddaughter, Alisa Repp and four sisters and eight brothers.

She is survived by her children, Mary Repp and husband Rodney of Endicott, Washington, Connie Gerringer and husband Robert of Altadena, California, Carolyn Redmond and husband Alan of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Melinda Cates and husband David of Lebanon, Missouri and Laura Anderson of Lebanon, Missouri,; her grandchildren, Rick Repp and wife Lisa, Kevin Repp, Nathan Repp and wife Susan, Theodore Gerringer and wife Sara, Fredrick Gerringer and wife Chinae, Jennifer Wirth and husband Brian, Stephen Redmond and wife Rayna and Derek Redmond and wife Lanyse, Britni Coffey and husband Kelly, Cody Cates, and Jacob Anderson and wife Taylor; nineteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Dorothy grew up on the family farm downstream from what is now Bagnell Dam. Her father passed away at a young age and she her siblings were raised by her mother. She was a graduate of The School of the Osage. While her husband Fred was away serving in World War II, she lovingly raised her family by herself until his return. Fred and Dorothy moved to Lebanon in 1967 where they would be closer to their families.

In her spare time, she loved being outside enjoying nature. She meticulously cared for her flower gardens and spent countless hours bird watching, and sitting outside in her swing. In her younger years, she was quite skilled in Archery and had participated in many tournaments. What she treasured the most was the time she spent with her family.

She was a loving mother, grandma, great-grandma and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends.
