DOROTHY V McCLELLAN Dorothy V McClellan, daughter of Homer and Roxy Cooper Gipson, was born, May 27, 1922 in Union City, Tennessee. She departed this life, Sunday, December 30, 2007 in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of eighty-five years, seven months and three days. On March 5, 1938 in St. Louis, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Albert McClellan and to this union, one son was born. Al preceded her in death on November 22, 1999 after sixty-one years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Garvin Gipson. Survivors include her son, Don McClellan and wife Judy of Maryland Heights, Missouri; five grandchildren, Don McClellan and wife Laura of St. Peters, Missouri, Lisa Renshaw and husband Ray of Bridgeton, Missouri, John McClellan and wife Kim of St. Charles, Missouri, Laura Cooper of Maryland Heights, Missouri and Amy Madsen and husband Chris of St. Louis, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Missy Van Doren and husband Matt, Bailey McClellan, Alex McClellan, Tyler McClellan, Drew McClellan, Jared McClellan, Cagney Cooper, Sarah Madsen and Hannah Madsen; one great-great-grandson, Justin Van Doren; a brother, Omer Gipson of St. Louis, Missouri; sisters-in-law, Martha Hance of Camdenton, Missouri, Donna Gipson of Little Rock, Arkansas and Nancy McClellan of St. Charles, Missouri; a brother-in-law, Charles McClellan and wife Orvalee of Wittman, Arizona and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. As a young girl, Dorothy's family moved from Tennessee to St. Louis, Missouri and she attended school there. After her marriage to Albert, they made their home in St. Louis where they lovingly raised their son. Besides being a devoted housewife, Dorothy worked for a short time for Kroger's. In 1981, she and her husband retired to the Lake of the Ozarks area. She made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Camdenton United Methodist Church where she was active in various church groups. In her spare time, she enjoyed fishing. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Dorothy was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and was a caring neighbor and friend. We will miss her greatly and will celebrate her full life. A private inurnment was in Allee Memorial Gardens, Camdenton. A memorial celebration will be held Saturday, January 12, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to The Lamb House and left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton.
