ED FIELDS Edwin Earl Fields, son of Eddie and Lola Fern Clark Fields, was born, January 26, 1939 in Sabina, Ohio. He departed this life, Saturday, April 23, 2016, in Sunrise Beach, Missouri at the age of seventy-seven years, two months and twenty-eight days. On June 1, 1958 in Malcom United Methodist Church, Malcom, Iowa, he was united in marriage to Eula Marie Sanders and to this union two children were born. Together they shared fifty-seven years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Iona Weld and Juanita See. Survivors include his wife, Eula Fields of Sunrise Beach, Missouri; a son, Larry Fields of Marshalltown, Iowa; a daughter, Lisa Elliott and husband Dave of Coon Rapids, Minnesota; five grandchildren, Angie Hutchinson, Sara Fields, Hailey Simpson, Cody Simpson and Melanie Simpson; three great-grandchildren, Jalen, Amiyah and Josiah Huthinson; a brother, Don Fields and wife Sandee of Iowa and a host of other relatives and many friends. Ed was raised in Ohio and as a young child, the family moved to Central Iowa. After graduating from high school, he married and they made their home in Grinnell, Iowa. They later moved to Marshalltown, Iowa. He retired from Fisher Controls as a welder after thirty-five years of service. He and Eula retired to the Lake of the Ozarks in 1998. Ed made a profession of faith and was a member of Ozark Chapel United Methodist Church. He has also been a member of the Hurricane Deck Lions Club. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing in Canada and locally. He spent time on the computer, checking the weather and reading and sending emails; sometimes complaining about the computer. Friday nights found Ed in the stands watching car races. In his younger years, he did welding on race cars. He was an avid country music fan. Ed took pride in his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2016, in Ozark Chapel United Methodist Church. Laurie, Missouri. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday in the church. Graveside services and burial will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 28, 2016 in Hazelwood Cemetery, Grinnell, Iowa. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society and left at the funeral home or the church the day of the service. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
