EDWARD P. SPAUTZ Edward Paul Spautz, son of Edward Paul Sr. and Lavine Marie Ganzen Spautz, was born, July 22, 1932 in Dubuque, Iowa. He departed this life, Sunday, December 4, 2011, in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of seventy-nine years, four months and twelve days. On February 11, 1956 in Camdenton, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Edna Elizabeth Danuser and to this union seven children were born. Together they shared fifty-five years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents and two great-grandchildren, Hunter Kane Heavner and Alana Mae Weems. Survivors include his wife, Edna Spautz of the home; seven children, Cindy Byler and husband Bently of Linn Creek, Missouri, Sandra Leap and husband Jeffrey of Camdenton, Missouri, Randy Spautz and wife Nancy of St. Louis, Missouri, Tim Spautz and wife Laura of Kansas City, Missouri, Patty Muscia and husband Joe of Linn Creek, Missouri, Lori Connor and husband Chuck of Camdenton, Missouri and Flo Weems and husband Jim of Linn Creek, Missouri; twenty-four grandchildren, Wade Byler and wife Sherry, Ashley Byler and wife Sara, Jesse Byler and wife Lisa, Jacob Byler and wife Karissa, Blaine Byler and wife Nickie, Rachel Byler, Savanna Robinson and husband Colt, Joey Leap and wife Carrie, Alishua Leap and husband Dale, Lacey Heavner and husband Chris, Courtney Leap and husband Chris, Jessica Spautz, Mathew Spautz, Michael Spautz, James Spautz, Dezirea Muscia, Cheyenne Muscia, Kody Richter, Kade Martin, Kayla Martin, Jimmy Weems and wife Morgan, Patrick Weems, Bary Weems and Nathan Weems; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Edward was raised in Dubuque, Iowa and attended St. Mary's Grade School and graduated from Lora Academy. He received many basketball awards through the Dubuque Industrial League. He served his country proudly in the Unites States Army during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged as a Corporal. He was a plumber and owned and operated a plumbing business for many years. In the early 1970's he owned and operated Ace Pancake House. Edward was baptized into the Catholic Church and was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Camdenton. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 1000 and the Lake Bowl bowling league. In his spare time he enjoyed watching football and all sports. He was an avid Cubbie and Chicago Bears fan. He loved Christmas time and had a sweet tooth, especially for chocolate covered cherries and cherry cheesecake. He enjoyed gambling and his dog Maxy. He was an honest extraordinary man who missed his mother until the day he died. Most of all he possessed the gift of making everyone he met feel welcome. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and a caring neighbor and friend. He touched many lived and his memory will linger on forever in the hearts of his family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday in Linn Creek Baptist Church under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow in Freedom Cemetery, Montreal. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday evening in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society and left at the funeral home. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
