Eugene James "Gene" Wallace, son of James Morrison and Margaret Elizabeth Drennen Wallace was born March 31, 1942 in Ventura, California. He departed this life Monday, June 28, 2010 in Lake Regional Health Systems, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of sixty-eight years, two months, and two days. On February 8, 1980, Gene was united in Marriage to the love of his life, Jannie Sue Eidson and together they have shared the past thirty years. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Kyle Wallace and David Christensen; and one sister, Julie Collins. He is survived by his wife, Jannie of the home; children,Kenny Wallace, Dustin Wallace and wife Amy, Cassandra Wallace and fiance, Chris Reed, Daniel Christensen,Jr., Kimberly Cullen and husband Daryl, all of Macks Creek, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Kyle Wallace, Zack and Vanessa Wallace, Sarah and Dan Christensen, Ashley Butler, David and Jannie Lea Cullen, Austin and Dale Rogers; two great-grandchildren, Abigal and Kevin; four brothers, John, Jerry, Jeff, and Jonathan Wallace; and one sister, Joyce Bolden; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Gene was born and raised in California and was a graduate of Antelope Valley High School in the Class of 1960. He moved to Macks Creek with his family in 1971. He worked as a welder throughout his life, working as a fabricator at H&R Dock for sixteen years. He also owned and operated a dairy farm for a short while. Gene was a member of the Macks Creek Lions Club until its disbanding, serving as Treasurer for several years. In his spare time, Old Man Wallace, enjoyed fishing, collecting green glass and in his younger years, riding horses. Gene was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the wonderful memories he has created for his family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 2, 2010 in the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday evening in the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Edith, Missouri. Memorial donations can be left at the funeral home on the day of the service. Arrangements are under the direction of the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton.
