Florence Maxine Green, daughter of Charles Henry and Rachel Cuemy (Allen) Moore, was born May 19, 1933 in Camden County, Missouri. She departed this life Sunday, September 2, 2007 in Windsor Estates in Camdenton, Missouri at the age of seventy-four years, three months and thirteen days. On September 27, 1956, Florence was united in marriage to George Edward Green and together they shared forty-nine years until his passing on December 11, 1995. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Norman Moore; as well as eight sisters, Winnie Allen, Beulah Wardlow, Edith Stone, Sophia Looney, Velva Looney, May Stover, Flossie Foust and Ruby Riggs. Florence is survived by two sisters, Nola Webster and Jo Williams, both of Lebanon, Missouri; two furry friends, Dorrie and Minnie; a number of nieces and nephews, as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in the Tunnel Dam area and graduated from Camdenton High School in the class of 1953. Shortly after graduation, she moved to Laclede County where she worked as a seamstress at H.D. Lee. She served children and families as a babysitter throughout her life, and also spent time in Kansas City as well as in Liberal, Kansas, where she worked for National Beef Packing. Florence was of the Baptist faith and had accepted Jesus Christ as her lord and savior. She attended many country churches throughout the area and enjoyed attending singings at Ira Baptist Church. Florence especially loved her family at Windsor Estates. She was very appreciative of the care and affection shown to her by the staff, and was fond of her close friends, Bobbi Swanson and Mayme Woodall, whom she ate almost every meal with and shared countless stories together. In her spare time, Florence enjoyed gardening; and had a wonderful green thumb. She also worked on wood crafts as well as painting, sewing, listening to bluegrass music, going to yard sales and traveling. Florence was a loving sister and aunt and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she has created for her many family and friends.
