GENNY SNELLING Genevieve May Snelling, daughter of Joseph Leonard and Mary Angeline Leffert Percival, was born, February 20, 1929 in Linn Creek, Missouri. She departed this life, Sunday, June 24, 2012, in her home, Camdenton, Missouri at the age of eighty-three years, four months and four days. On March 16, 1946 in Camden County, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Loyd Snelling and to this union two sons were born. Together they shared forty-three years of marriage before his passing on January 14, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Ronald Loyd Snelling; a grandson, Shawn Snelling and four brothers, Arthur Percival, Charlie Percival, Leonard Percival Jr. and Joey Percival. Survivors include her son, Ed Snelling and wife Mary of Linn Creek, Missouri; four grandchildren, Kyle Snelling and wife Jessica of Camdenton, Missouri, Kevin Snelling and Lisa of Linn Creek, Missouri, Jason Snelling of Raymore, Missouri and Cody Snelling of Caddo Mills, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Taylor, Griffin and Kennedy; three sisters, Freda Hartford of Fort Collins, Colorado, Patsie Parrish of Camdenton, Missouri and Rose Percival of Blue Springs, Missouri; a brother, William Lee Percival of Newport News, Virginia and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Genny was a life-long resident of Camden County. She worked as a waitress at many restaurants in the lake area. She made a profession of faith and was a member of Linn Creek Baptist Church. In her spare time, Genny made many beautiful quilts. She also enjoyed cooking and reading. She spent most morning working a cross-word puzzle. Spending time with her family brought her the most joy. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 29, 2012 in Linn Creek Baptist Church under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Freedom Cemetery, Montreal. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Thursday in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to VFW Post 5923 and left at the funeral home. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
