GLENDA GARCIA Glenda Sue Garcia, daughter of Clarence Franklin and Sarah Retta Brown Russell, was born, August 16, 1950 in Monette, Arkansas. She departed this life, Thursday, December 8, 2011, in University Hospital, Columbia, Missouri at the age of sixty-one years, three months and twenty-two days. She was united in marriage to Dave Garcia Jr. in California. Together they shared the past eighteen years of marriage. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Willis, Lester and Charles "Buddy" Russell. Survivors include her husband, Dave Garcia, Jr. of the home; three daughters, Lisa Hatton and husband Michael of Ellsinore, Missouri, Laura Bacon and husband Christopher of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and Wanda Sanders of Piggott, Arkansas; nine grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; six sisters, Imogene Jones of Winfield, Louisiana, Elsie Howle of Centralia, Illinois, Earlene Baker, Lois Howes and Pauline Herch all of Clinton, Iowa and Judy Sanders of Florissant, Missouri and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Glenda was raised in the Poplar Bluff, Missouri area and attended school there. She was a graduate of Fisk High School in the class of 1967. She received as Associates degree from Three Rivers Community College. She worked in the Emergency Room at Poplar Bluff Hospital for a number of years. She was a homemaker and longingly raised her daughters. She and Dave retired to Lake of the Ozarks in 2009. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, gardening and crocheting. She enjoyed spending time on her computer, especially playing games. Most of all, time spent with her family was most important to her. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 13, 2011 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m., Tuesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Fort Leonard Wood Veterans Cemetery, Waynesville, Missouri. Memorial donations may be made to University Hospital and left at the funeral home. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
