ISABELLE WINEBRENNER Lydia Isabelle Winebrenner, daughter of Riley Spencer and Emmer Lucy Anderson Leffert, was born, August 16, 1917 in Old Linn Creek, Missouri. She departed this life, Saturday, April 3, 2010, in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of ninety-two years, seven months and eighteen days. She was married to Ansel Ray Handy, Sr. and to this union five children were born. On February 9, 1950, she was united in marriage to J.W. Patrick who preceded her in death on July 24, 1961. She married William Winebrenner on August 7, 1971 and he passed away, January 26, 1974. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gene Handy; a grandson, Tom Handy; five brothers, Henry, Joe Vaughn, Jewell, John and Oscar Leffert and three sisters, Augusta Etzler, Hester Pickens and Opal Hardin. Survivors include four children, Ansel Handy, Jr. and wife Jean of Forrest Grove, Oregon, Queen Wilkey of Camdenton, Missouri, Jewell Handy and wife Naomi of Columbia, Missouri and Warren Handy of Camdenton, Missouri; seventeen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; fourteen great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Faye Danuser of Montreal, Missouri and a host of many nieces and nephews who lovingly called her Aunt Belle, other relatives and many friends. Isabelle lived in Camden County her whole life except for a time spent in the Kansas City area. She owned and operated Pat's Cafe in Camdenton from 1959 until she retired in 1970. Isabelle was baptized an early age and attended New Beginnings Baptist Church in Camdenton. In her spare time she could be found reading a good book, doing a crossword puzzle or making quilts. She was an excellent cook and made the best pies around. Most of all, she enjoyed time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 8, 2010 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Conway Cemetery, Osage Beach. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, the Conway Cemetery or the American Stroke Association and left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton.
