JESS WILLIAMS Jess Benard Williams, son of Benjamin Franklin and Vera Latisha Hitch Williams, was born, July 4, 1928 in Wyandotte County, Kansas. He departed this life, Wednesday, December 7, 2011, in Windsor Estates Care Center, Camdenton, Missouri at the age of eighty-three years, five months and three days. On April 2, 1950 in Collins, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Cleora Alberta Fields and to this union three children were born. Together they shared sixty-one years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Marilyn Alberta Giddens and two brothers, Herbert and Eddy. Survivors include his wife, Cleora "Corky" Williams of the home; two sons, Jess Williams, Jr. and Steven Williams and wife Diane all of Camdenton, Missouri; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and other relatives and many friends. Jess was raised in Collins, Missouri and attended school there. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country proudly during World War II. After being honorably discharges, he returned to Collins where he attended schools for carpentry and mechanics. After his marriage to Corky, he worked for Lake City Arsenal and later for Ford. They moved to Wheatland, Missouri on the family farmed for a time. He later worked as a milk deliveryman in Kansas City, Kansas. He and Corky owned and operated two service stations; You Save in Collins, Missouri and Corky's Corner in Wheatland. They then moved to the Greenview area on Lake of the Ozarks and he owned and operated Smokehouse Barbeque for over ten years. Jess made a profession of faith and was a member of Montgomery Baptist Church. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing. Most of all, spending time with his family was the upmost important to him. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 10, 2011 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow in Sumner Cemetery, Wheatland, Missouri. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m., Saturday in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Share the Harves Food Pantry and left at the funeral home. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
