JIMMY DWITE WEST Jimmy Dwite West, son of John William and Ida Mae Teer West, was born, July 28, 1928 in Higginsville, Missouri. He departed this life, Sunday, June 19, 2011, in Laurie Care Center, Laurie, Missouri at the age of eighty-two years, ten months and twenty-two days. On December 31, 1949 in Carmel, Indiana, he was united in marriage to Lorna Patricia Criss and to this union four children were born. Together they shared sixty-two years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Jimmy; three brothers, Howard, Junior and Todd and two sisters, Pauline and Darlene. Survivors include his wife, Lorna Patricia West of Camdenton, Missouri; three children, Elissa "Christy" Dulle and husband Jim, Olevia "Libby" West and Karen Salaway all of Camdenton, Missouri and Jimmy West, Jr. and wife Connie of Strang, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Jeff Voss and wife Michelle, Mark Voss and wife Patsy, Kevin Voss and wife Kathy, Lisa West, Tiffany West and husband Gus, Weston West and Sabrina Decker and husband Chris; eleven great-grandchildren, Cherie Voss, Raven Voss, Jeffrey Voss, Sienna Voss, Hudson Decker, Jaelynn West-Adkins, Jordan Adkins, Maesyn Voss, Tyler Rooffener, Kyle Rooffener and Kaitlyn Blair; three brothers, Wade, Harry and Jackie West all of Lebanon, Missouri; three sisters, Rosalee, Wanda and Anna and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Jimmy was raised in Lebanon, Missouri. He lived in California, Indiana and Oklahoma where he worked as a carpenter most of his life. He and Lorna moved to the Lake of the Ozarks in 1984. While here, he worked in boat factories and retired from Camdenton R-III Schools as a custodian. Jimmy made a profession of faith and was baptized at New Home Baptist Church in Camdenton. He was also a member of the Camdenton Moose Lodge #2322. In his spare time, he loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter, having killed two deer this past November. He loved fishing, especially his annual fishing trip with his grandsons. Playing cards and Cardinals baseball were both top on the list for fun things to do. He received an autographed baseball after attending a Cardinals game on his 80th birthday. Most of all, family was important to him and spending time with them made him happiest, especially his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 23, 2011 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Edith. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation and left at the funeral home. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
