JONNA KAY WITHEROW Jonna Kay Witherow, precious daughter of Jonathan David Witherow and Connie Kay Long, was born, February 8, 1996 in Springfield, Missouri. Heaven gained another angel, Thursday, August 6, 2015, in El Dorado Springs, Missouri at the age of nineteen years, five months and twenty-nine days. She was greeted in Heaven by her grandparents, O.H. and Louisa Witherow and Jackson Long; her step-grandfather, Herb Cooley and Uncle Jack Long Jr. She will be greatly missed by her parents, Jon Witherow and Connie Long of Macks Creek, Missouri; her beloved grandmother, Mildred Cooley of Camdenton, Missouri and a host other relatives and many friends that she touched during her short life. Jonna was raised in Macks Creek and was a graduate of Macks Creek High School in the class of 2014. She was very active in high school activities. Jonna was a member of the Future Farmers of America and served as President of the Macks Creek Chapter her Junior year. She played several sports including basketball, softball and track. She was a Pirate cheerleader, a member of National Honor Society, and participated in choir 6th grade thru High School graduation. Jonna enjoyed competing in pageants. She won numerous awards and titles, including Miss Mississippi Valley. She competed in the America’s US Miss National Pageant where she was second runner-up in the photogenic event. Jonna received the National Award for Community Service, Sponsorship and Hospitality and was crowned America’s US Ambassador Cover Miss 2015. Jonna was a an actress at Camden County Museum and played several roles throughout the years. She was a volunteer firefighter with the Southwest Fire Protection District in Macks Creek and planned to continue her education as a Fire Fighter. She also holds a Black Belt in Chuan Fa martial arts. Jonna loved all animals especially horses. She was a member of the Camden County Gallups 4-H and served as a 4-H Youth Leader, as well as a member of the Urbana Saddle Club. She followed in her parents footsteps and loved showing and riding horses. Her favorite event each year was to attend the 4H State Fair Horse Show in Sedalia where she received many Top Ten awards. Her plan was to receive a degree in Animal Science and pursue her dream of owning a Paint Horse Ranch and teaching children to show especially in Showmanship at Halter for which she holds many awards. Jonna enjoyed numerous other hobbies including showing Black Angus cattle. Time spent fishing and hunting always made her happy. Jonna enjoyed watching dirt track racing and regularly could be seen at Urbana Speedway. Jonna made a profession of faith and attended Camdenton United Methodist Church where she attended day care as a child and Macks Creek Baptist Church. She touched many lived during her short time. We take comfort in knowing that her memory will linger on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. A memorial visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Friday, August 14, 2015 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. The Family will hold a memorial event at a later date. To honor her memory, memorial donations may be made to the family or Camden County 4-H Horsemanship Program and left at the funeral home. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
