LES WAINRIGHT Leslie Allen Wainright, son of Norman Leslie and Betty Ailene Dixon Wainright, was born, January 4, 1948 in Springfield, Missouri. He departed this life, Tuesday, January 10, 2012, in his home, Climax Springs, Missouri at the age of sixty-four years and 6 days. On October 11, 1985 in Las Vegas, Nevada, he was united in marriage to Sandra Sue Hays. Together they shared the past twenty-six years of marriage He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Sandy of the home; a brother, Dennis Wainright and wife Donna of Winchester, Kentucky; a nephew, Daniel Wainright and wife Kristyn of Louisville, Kentucky; a niece, Katie Galanaugh and husband Ryan of Denver, Colorado; three great-nieces, Nora, Anna and Ella; an uncle and aunt, Bud and Irene Dixon of Buffalo, Missouri and other relatives and many friends. Les was raised in Independence, Missouri and was a graduate of Van Horn High School in the class of 1966. He attended Southwest Baptist University before entering the Air Force. After receiving a medical discharge, he returned to Independence where he began a career in Banking. He worked in Independence, Springfield, Camdenton and Climax Springs before he retired. He attended the Climax Springs Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #288 in Hermitage, Missouri. He was a Shriner through the Abou Ben Adhem Shrine in Springfield. He was on the board of directors for the Coffman Bend Fire Department and an active member of the Climax Springs Boosters Club. In his spare time, Les enjoyed time spent on the golf course and boating. Most of all, he enjoyed moments with family and friends. He was a loving husband, brother and uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. He touched many lives and his memory will linger on in the hearts of his family and friends. Visitation will be from 12:00 - 2:30 p.m., Thursday, January 12, 2012 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Graveside services and burial will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 13, 2012 in Oak Grove Cemetery, Walnut Grove, Missouri under the direction of Wilson-Brim-Daniel Funeral Home of Walnut Grove. Memorial donations may be made to Climax Springs Presbyterian Church or Climax Springs Booster Club and left at the funeral home. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
