Obituary for Lillie M. Connolly

Lillie May Connolly

Lillie May Connolly, daughter of Clarence Mathias and Ollie May Leffert Christensen, was born, October 29, 1939 in Linn Creek, Missouri. She departed this life, on Thursday, November 2, 2018, in Lakeside Meadows, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of seventy-nine years and four days.

On April 13, 1957, she was united in marriage to Albert W. Lau and to this union they were blessed with five children. This marriage ended June 27, 1977. She met Daniel Michael Connolly and they were married in Newton, Kansas on December 22, 1979. They adopted one daughter. Together they shared almost twenty-five wonderful years of marriage. She loved being with Dan as they shared a lot of the same interest.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel; her daughter, Denise Rich; her son Anthony Lau and her siblings, Clara Burton, Mary Vaughn, Charley M. Christensen, Clarence W. Christensen, Ollie Jones, Albert Christensen and Johnny Christensen.

She is survived by her children, Rebecca Chastain and husband Harvey Luke of Macks Creek, Missouri, Diana Penwell of Las Vegas, Nevada, Deb Bowler and Al Diggs of Wichita, Kansas and Albert Lau of Wichita, Kansas; her grandchildren, Justin Connolly-Register, Joseph Cole Register, Oscar Cortez, Jr., Tiffany Aldridge, Sylvia Aldridge, Amy Bowler, Dakota Bowler, Elysia Penwell, Joseph Penwell, Don Penwell, Vincent Lau, Crissie Case, Amanda Santiago and Dylon Perkins; sixteen great-grandchildren with one on the way; her siblings, Daniel Christensen of Macks Creek, Missouri, Samuel Christensen of Macks Creek, Missouri and Linda Christensen of Camdenton, Missouri and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Lillie was raised in the Linn Creek and Camdenton area. She graduated from Camdenton R-III High School. She had worked at Western Electric in Lee’s Summit and John Knox’s Village. She belonged to the Bonsia Society and was part owner of Haysville Bonsia. She had had other jobs and was skilled at all of them. Daniel and Lillie lived in Kansas until he retired and then they moved back to the lake area.

Lillie had accepted the Lord as her Savior when she was very young. She had reclaimed that faith at the New Beginnings Baptist Church in Camdenton, Missouri where she was member. She loved her church and church family.

In her spare time, she loved to cook for her family and trying new recipes which they always enjoyed. Their main request was for her lasagna, taco dip and chocolate pecan pie. She could be found reading, crocheting, sewing and doing crossword puzzles. The time she enjoyed the most, was being around family and friends and getting to visit. She always was anxious for family reunion times to hear from all of her family.

Lille has blessed her family with many wonderful stories and memories. She was a loving, mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister, aunt and a caring friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 9, 2018, in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri. Burial will follow in Percival Cemetery, Linn Creek. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of service, in the funeral home.
