LORENE McGUIRE Lorene McGuire, daughter of Oliver Clinton "O.C." and Gladys Moore Waters, was born, August 10, 1927 in Eldridge, Missouri. She departed this life, Monday, August 4, 2014, in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of eighty-six years, eleven months and twenty-five days. On October 17, 1944 she was united in marriage to James Warren McGuire and to this union one son was born. Together they shared twenty-nine years of marriage until his passing on December 21, 1973. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mary Lou Koby; a brother, Donald Waters; a daughter-in-law, Pam McGuire and a granddaughter, Ursula McGuire. Survivors include her son, James McGuire and special friend Jan Parish of Camdenton, Missouri; two grandsons, Marty McGuire of Osage Beach, Missouri and Shane Shadrick and wife Pam of Camdenton, Missouri; three great-grandsons, Austin, Colby, and Dylan; a sister, Dottie Jean May of Davenport, Iowa and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Lorene was raised in the Eldridge area. After her marriage, they made their home in Kansas City and later moved to Lebanon. They eventually moved back home to Decaturville. She worked for Blair Cedar for thirty-eight years and retired in 1994. She was a special person who raised three generations of boys. Lorene was saved and was member of Mt. Horeb Missionary Baptist Church. Her church was very important to her. She loved her family and enjoyed attending as many activities and sporting events as she could. She liked spending time in her garden and was an excellent cook. She enjoyed crocheting and made many beautiful afghans. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. She was a special lady who touched many lives. Her memory will linger on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 8, 2014 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mt. Horeb Cemetery, Decaturville. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Thursday in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Mt. Horeb Cemetery and left at the funeral home. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
