MARY DeREMUS Mary Demetria Gabriel DeRemus, daughter of Harry G. and Mary Agnes Newton Gabriel, was born January 29, 1920 in Springfield, Missouri. She passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2011 in Lakeside Meadows Retirement Center, Osage Beach at the age of ninety-one years, eight months and six days She was united in marriage to Aldwin Emerson "Al" DeRemus. Together they shared over thirty years of marriage before his passing on April 12, 2010. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Mark Stitt in 2004 and a daughter, Mary Diane Stitt in 2009. Survivors include a son, Richard Venie of Kansas City, Kansas; a sister, Sister Mary Bertha of Corpus Christi, Texas; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mary was raised in Springfield, Missouri and attended St. Agnes and St. Joseph schools and graduated from Springfield High School. She lived for many years in Kansas City before retiring to the Lake of the Ozarks. She was employed at Italian Gardens Restaurant, Travelers Insurance, and Mobil Oil Credit Corporation. She was a longtime member of the Shrine of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Laurie, Missouri. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 12, 2011 in Shrine of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Highway 5, Laurie, Missouri. Visitation will begin at 9:30 on Wednesday in the church with a Rosary beginning at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's cemetery. Contributions are suggested to the Shrine of St. Patrick Catholic Church. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
