Mason L Ritchey

Mason Luther Ritchey Mason Luther Ritchey, son of Martin Luther and Sylvia Love Riley Ritchey, was born August 1, 1929 in Ray, Illinois. He departed this life Thursday, February 25, 2016, in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of eighty-six years, six months and twenty-four days. In November of 1953 he was united in marriage to Alice Maureen Bates and to this union four children were born. Together they shared fifty-three years of marriage until her death on February 12, 2007. He was preceded in death by his parents; his children, Martin Ritchey and Melinda Ritchey; his brother, Terry Ritchey and his grandson, Timothy Stotler. Survivors include his daughter, Mary Box and Keith Middleton of Camdenton, Missouri and son, Mark Ritchey and wife Doreen of Maple Grove, Minnesota; three grandchildren, Tammy Stotler, Neil Box and Willie Box; nine great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Paula Ritchey of Branch, Missouri; and son-in-law, Timothy Stotler of Ramsey, Minnesota; siblings, Jim Ritchey and Cindy Ritchey both of Buffalo, Missouri and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Mason was raised in Ray, Illinois. He worked as a carpenter for many years and later as a maintenance man. They moved to Kansas where they started raising their family and then to California. After he retired, they moved to lake area. In his spare time Mason loved tinkering in his garage. He was the fix it man that everyone came to. If the hardware store did not have it, Mason did. He had a dog named Gizmo that he loved very dearly. He was a loving son, husband, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2016 in Moulder’s Cafe, in Branch, Missouri. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital and left at the Moulder’s Cafe. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
