MAXINE BARGER Maxine Barger, daughter of Ezra and Margaret Pearl "Maggie" Ashford Barger, was born, June 15, 1922 in Golconda, Illinois. She departed this life, Saturday, July 26, 2008 in Windsor Estates, Camdenton, Missouri at the age of eighty-six years, one month and eleven days. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Mary White and Velma Wardrop. Survivors include a nephew, Jim White of Round Lake, Illinois; a niece, Joan Thrasher of Caldwell, West Virginia; several great-nieces and nephews and many friends. Maxine was raised in Illinois and spent most of her adult life in Evanston, Illinois where she worked as a medical secretary. In 1997, she retired to the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. She had been a member of the Eastern Star in Evanston, Illinois for many years. Her favorite pastime was fishing and she loved spending time on the lake. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Maxine was a loving aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. She will be missed by many who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 31, 2008 in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Chapel, Chicago, Illinois, under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. No formal visitation will be held, however, friends may call from 2-4 p.m., Wednesday, in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Windsor Estates Courtyard Fund and left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton.
