NAOMI THOMAS Naomi Della Thomas, daughter of George and Mildred Folgerson Turner, was born, June 22, 1913 in Dallas County, Missouri. She departed this life, Monday, December 15, 2008 in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of ninety-five years, five months and twenty-three days. On August 12, 1932 in Kansas City, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Dow Augusta Thomas and to this union three children were born. Together they shared over fifty-one years of marriage until his passing on May 12, 1984. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Margaret Morris; a granddaughter, Michele Thomas; two brothers and five sisters. Survivors include her sons, Lanny Thomas and wife Nancy of Sunrise Beach, Missouri and Ronnie Thomas and wife Linda of Mesa, Arizona; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Naomi was raised in Dallas County, Missouri and after graduation from Buffalo High School, she moved to the Kansas City area. It was in Kansas City that she met and married her husband, Dow. They made their home in Kansas City until retiring to the Lake of the Ozarks in 1971. Besides being a mother and help-mate to her husband, she worked as a bank teller for Fidelity State Bank in Kansas City and later Community State Bank in Sunrise Beach. Naomi made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Long Lane Baptist Church. In her spare time she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, playing cards and scrabble. In her earlier years, she enjoyed fishing. Her family was most important to her and she enjoyed spending time with them. Naomi was a loving mother, grandmother and aunt and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her many accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 19, 2008 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery, Long Lane, Missouri. No visitation will be held. Memorial donations may be made to the century old New Hope Cemetery and left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton.
