Paul Butler Paul Alvea Butler, son of Hiram and Nannie Mable Smith Butler, was born, January 5, 1924 in Kansas City, Kansas. He departed this life, Monday, November 3, 2014, in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of ninety years, nine months and twenty-nine days. On May 10, 1974 in Miami, Oklahoma, he was united in marriage to Eulalia Elizabeth “Sue” Westhoff. Together they shared the past forty years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brother; three sisters; a grandson; a great-granddaughter and a step-son. Survivors include his wife, Eulalia “Sue” Butler of Osage Beach, Missouri; four children, Richard Butler and wife Cheryl of Paola, Kansas, Wayne Butler and wife Dana of Freeman, Missouri, Patricia Chester of Ottowa, Kansas and Pamela Thiel and husband Donald of Prospect, Kentucky; two step-sons, Ronnie Bachtel of Kansas City, Missouri and Dennis Bachtel and wife Louellen of Pleasanton, California; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Bachtel of Montreal, Missouri; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Paul was raised in Kansas City and attended small rural schools in the Kansas City area. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during World War II. After being honorably discharged, he worked as a farmer and a milk hauler. He later drove maintainers. He retired as a Teamster Truck Driver for Churchill. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and in his spare time enjoyed fishing. He loved spending time with his family, especially his kids and grandkids. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 7, 2014 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow in Allee Memorial Gardens, Camdenton. Visitation will be from 12-1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the family and left at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.alleeholmanhowe.com. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
