Roger Douglas

Roger Allen Douglas, son of William and Bessielee Cobb Douglas, was born April 14, 1940 in St. Louis, Missouri. He departed this life Monday, December 18, 2017 in Osage Beach Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, at the age of seventy-seven years, eight months, and four days. On June 3, 1995, Roger was united in marriage to Nancy Gray, and together they have shared the last twenty-two years. His parents, and a sister, Michelle Kelley, preceded Roger in death. He is survived by his wife, Nancy, of the home; a daughter, Sherry James and husband Paul, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; a son, Michael Douglas, of Indiana; his step children, Garn Gray of Troy, Missouri, and Kelly Janes and husband Justin, of Hannibal, Missouri; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, David Douglas, of Camdenton, Missouri; two sisters, Donna Hoffman and husband Jim, of Camdenton, Missouri, and Mary Ann Blankenship and husband Jim, of St. Charles, Missouri; as well as several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and many dear friends. Roger spent the majority of his life living in the St. Louis area. He was a teamster for thirty-four years working for Lamberts Furniture Company and later working for Fred Weber Construction as a heavy highway division equipment driver and retired in 1997. Following his retirement, Roger and Nancy made their home at the Lake area, where he was actively involved in the community and spent the majority of his time volunteering at various organizations. Roger was baptized into the Catholic Church as an infant and was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Camdenton. Roger was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories he has created for his family and many dear friends. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 14, 2018 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Camdenton, Missouri. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri.
