RUTH MAPSON Ruth Eleanor Mapson, daughter of the late Leo Lee and Gertrude Jane Carlson Halley was born, Saturday, September 27, 1919 in Blue Island, Illinois. She departed this life, Saturday, June 28, 2008 in Maryville Manor, Maryville, Illinois, at the age of eighty-eight years, nine months and one day. She was united in marriage to Johnny Ambruso. After his death, she met and married Robert Olmsted whom she was married to for many years. He passed away and she was later married to Charles Mapson, who also preceded her in death. Survivors include her son, Gerald Ambruso and his girlfriend Catherine Mikolaszuk of Granite City, Illinois; four grandchildren, Bradley G. Ambruso and wife Susan of Indianapolis, Indiana, Robert B. Ambruso and wife Terri of Brighton, Illinois, Traci Lynn Ambruso of Florissant, Missouri and Lance A. Ambruso and wife Cheryl of Granite City, Illinois; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and many other relatives and friends. Ruth was raised and spent her early adulthood in Chicago, Illinois. She later moved to the Lake of the Ozarks where she remained for over thirty years. Four years ago, she moved to Granite City, Illinois to be closer to her family. She was a homemaker and had been a beautician earlier in life. In spare time she enjoyed fishing and bowling. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 2, 2008 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Dale Blair Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12-1 p.m., Wednesday in the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton.
