SUSAN VAUGHT Susan Ann Vaught, daughter of Cornish Jack and Doris Ann Mosier Beck, was born, March 19, 1938 in Jefferson City, Missouri. She departed this life, Sunday, March 14, 2010, in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of seventy-one years, eleven months and twenty-three days. Survivors include her three sons, Reid Vaught and wife Ellen of Yellville, Arkansas, Rob Vaught and wife Dawn of Lenexa, Kansas and Doug Vaught and Kathy Hamilton of Independence, Missouri; four grandsons, Aaron Vaught, Jacob Vaught, Adam Vaught and Nathaniel Vaught and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Betty Cordell. Susan was raised in Camdenton and attended school there. She went to finishing school at Stephens College and graduated there. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Education from the University of Missouri and later obtained a Master's Degree from Lincoln University. She taught in the Camdenton R-III School System as a Special Education teacher and retired in 1996 after twenty-eight years of faithful service. Susan made a profession of faith and was a member of First Baptist Church of Camdenton. She was an active member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority at University of Missouri. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking and gardening. Most of all, she enjoyed time spent with family and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother and a caring neighbor and friend. She touched many young lives in her career as an educator and we celebrate her life and her many accomplishments. We will treasure the memories she created for her family, students and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 18, 2010 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home with Reverend Dennis North officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Camdenton. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday in the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton.
