Obituary for Terry Lynn McGuire

Terry Lynn McGuire, son of Gene and Janice (Edwards) McGuire, was born July 17, 1965 in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Monday, April 1, 2019 in Lake Regional Health Systems, Osage Beach, Missouri, at the age of fifty-three years, eight months, and fifteen days.

On September 3, 1983, Terry was united in marriage to Susan Diane Westbrook, his best friend and the love of his life. They would spend many hours together and would laugh at each other over silly things. To this union, three children were born.

Terry was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, as well as a host of other relatives.

He is survived by his wife, Diane, of the home; his children, Kayla Ginnings, of Nixa, Missouri, TJ McGuire and wife Sabrina, of Higginsville, Missouri, and Lukas McGuire, of Camdenton, Missouri; one granddaughter, Faith Ginnings; his parents, Gene and Janice McGuire, of Camdenton, Missouri; his brothers, Jim McGuire and wife Joni, of Camdenton, Missouri, Michael McGuire and wife June, of Drexel, Missouri, and Joe McGuire and wife Stephani, of Camdenton, Missouri; his mother-in-law, Alene Westbrook, of Lebanon, Missouri; sister-in-law, Renee Durbin and husband Dexter, of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.

Terry had many friends, but he had three really good friends; Mike Oberbeck, JC Byler and Jason Taylor. They meant a lot to him. He also had a friend, Kathy Burel, who was always the sister that he never had.

Terry was a lifelong resident of Camden County and was a graduate of Camdenton High School in the Class of 1983. Following his graduation, Terry worked for Camdenton Lawn and Garden and later for fourteen years as a Machinist at Big C Machine Shop. Terry was working as the warehouse manager of Evergreen at the time of his passing.

Terry was saved and baptized in 1985. He was ordained as a Deacon at Decaturville Missionary Baptist Church on January 25, 1998 and has served the church faithfully for many years.

Terry was known throughout the area for raising quality rabbits and chickens. He had even had people from other states contact him about his rabbits. Along the way Terry became known as the “Rabbit Farmer.” He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and in his spare time he attended swap meets, and visited many of the local race tracks. Terry loved to give hugs and if you were lucky enough to receive one he truly thought of you as a friend. His granddaughter Faith had her Poppy wrapped around her little finger. He was known for not being able to tell her no. He loved spoiling and spending as much time as he could with Faith.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, April 5, 2019 in the Decaturville Missionary Baptist Church with burial to follow in Mt. Horeb Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 pm Thursday, April 4, 2019 in the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri. Online condolences may be made at
