ALDWIN "AL" DeREMUS Aldwin Emerson DeRemus, son of Frank Fox and Emma Cordelia Hendricks DeRemus, was born, January 4, 1917 in Kansas City, Missouri. He departed this life, Monday, April 12, 2010, in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of ninety-three years, three months and eight days. He was united in marriage to Delores Hellar and to this union, two sons were born. After her passing, he was later married to Mary Demetria Gabriel and together they shared over thirty years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores; his parents and a step-daughter, Diane Stitt. Survivors include his wife, Mary DeRemus of Osage Beach, Missouri; two sons, Larry DeRemus and wife Claudine of Palm Harbor, Florida and Frank DeRemus of Drexel, Missouri; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a step-son, Richard Venie of Kansas City, Kansas and other relatives and many friends. Al was raised in the Kansas City area. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during World War II. After being honorably discharged, he worked as a union paint contractor and interior decorator. He was a member of the Shrine of St. Patrick Catholic Church and a past member of the Heart of America Boat Club. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and the lake. He was also an avid reader. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and step-father and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 15, 2010 in the Shrine of St. Patrick Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, Laurie. Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m., Thursday in the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton.
