ARTHUR C. HOPPER, JR. Arthur C. Hopper, Jr., son of Arthur C. Hopper Sr. and Carrie Mollie Owens Hopper, was born, March 19, 1940 in Kansas City, Kansas. He departed this life, Wednesday, December 5, 2012, in his home, Climax Springs, Missouri at the age of seventy-two years, eight months and sixteen days. On March 3, 1985 in Las Vegas, Nevada, he was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Metzger. Together they shared twenty-seven years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur C. Hopper, Sr. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Hopper of the home; his mother, Carrie Hopper of Climax Springs, Missouri; a daughter, Barbara Griffin of Linn Creek, Missouri; a son, Larry Cook of Rancho Cucamonga, California; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his sister, Dorothy Boehr of Overland Park, Kansas; step-son, Richard Cline of Prairie Village, Kansas; a step-daughter, Susan Cline of Kansas City, Kansas and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Arthur was raised in Kansas City, Kansas and was a graduate of Wyandotte High School in the class of 1958. He worked for the railroad and several other jobs before beginning a career at General Motors. He retired from GM in Fairfax, Kansas after thirty and one-half years of service. He retired to the Lake of the Ozarks in 1995. Arthur was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1100 and Benton County Elks Lodge #2783. He enjoyed racing stock cars and loved watching NASCAR. He made a lot of friends and his friends were an important part of his life. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 15, 2012 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12-1 p.m., December 15th in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Compassus and left at the funeral home. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
