Carl Weant, son of the late John & Joann (Shelton) Weant, was born on January 21, 1952 and departed this life on October 19, 2025. At the time of his passing, Carl was seventy-three years, eight months and twenty-eight days of age.

Carl was preceded in passing by his parents; one daughter, Stephanie Burns; and brother-in-law, Donald Upton.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Weant; one daughter, Bethany & husband Cory Brandt; one son-in-law, Willie Burns; one brother, John & wife Cindy Weant; brother-in-law, Tommy & wife Rhonda Jones; sister-in-law, Lana Upton; grandchildren, Trenton Burns, Sheldon Burns, Dalton Brandt (Karrya), Dawson Brandt, Lacey Brandt (Colton), Sara Shoemaker and Payten Brandt. In his passing, Carl leaves behind many friends and other family members who will all truly miss him.

Carl was born in Kansas City, Missouri and then at the age of fourteen, he moved to Camden County, Missouri and was taken in as a foster child by the Kautz family; he would later graduate from Camdenton High School in the class of 1970. Following his high school graduation, he would attend College of the Ozarks, obtaining his BSE and later his Master’s Degree in Analytic Geometry from Southwest Missouri State, now known as Missouri State University.

On August 6, 1971, Carl was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Mary Ellen Jones; Together they would share fifty-four years of marriage.

Throughout his working years, he taught school in various places around Missouri and in 1992, he was offered a DODDS contract to teach mathematics overseas on the island of Bahrain during the first Gulf War. He would then go to Izmir, Turkey to teach physical education until 2001. To further pursue his time in education, he would return to the United States and teach at various places throughout Missouri. While involved in the school districts, he loved to drive a school bus, coach football and officiate basketball games.

Lion Carl was a member of the International Lion’s Club, serving for over forty years.

In his spare time, he devoted as much time as possible to his true passion, Music, and above all, his grandchildren. He played in the Rock N Roll band on the Larry Don. He also enjoyed collecting baseball cards, being an avid builder and re-modeler (making sure whatever he built was absolutely perfect), and water skiing.
