DALE E. MOORE Dale Eugene Moore, son of William Beecher and Laura Faye Good Moore, was born September 21, 1938, in Parsons, Kansas. He departed this life, Thursday, May 5, 2016, in his home, Camdenton, Missouri at the age of seventy-seven years, seven months and fourteen days. On June 24, 1956 in Parsons, Kansas, he was united in marriage to Lou Jane Fultz. Together they shared nearly 60 years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Lori Sue Moore; a step-sister, Patti Hill and a step-brother, Davey Lee Harris. Survivors include his wife, Lou Jane Moore of the home and four children: Debra McCormack and husband Robert of St. Louis, Missouri, Julaine Murphy and husband Thomas of Dardenne Prairie, Missouri, Lori Smelik and Matt Friedman both of Camdenton, Missouri; six grandchildren: Johnathan Murphy and wife Meredith, Joshua Murphy and wife Emily, Beth Deppe and husband Brent, Robert McCormack, III, and wife Lacey, Jessica Schuller and husband Josh, and Daniel McCormack; six great-grandchildren: Ella Murphy, Zachary Murphy, Jaxon Schuller, Ryan Murphy, Easton Murphy and Cora Deppe; a brother, Bill Moore and wife Linda of Franklin, Louisiana, and a host of other relatives and many friends. Dale was raised in Parsons, Kansas and was a graduate of Labette County Community High School in the class of 1956. He received a bachelor’s degree in Recreation in 1963 and a master’s degree in Special Education in 1968 both from Pittsburg State University. He completed his doctoral PhD studies at University of Kansas. He was Assistant Director for the Instructional Materials Center for University of Kansas. He had a pilot’s license and was able to fly to the locations in the six-state area he covered. He later became the Assistant Superintendent for the Special School District of St. Louis County. He and Lou Jane moved to the Lake of the Ozarks where they owned and operated Empire Resort before retiring to Old Kinderhook. Dale made a profession of faith and was a member of Camdenton United Methodist Church. He was the past President of the Camdenton Area Chamber of Commerce and was on the Board of Directors for Camden County Developmental Center. In his spare time, he could be found on the course playing a round of golf. He enjoyed fishing and traveling in his R.V. He loved his two dogs, Buddy and Chi Chi. Most of all, spending time with his family and friends brought him joy. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 10, 2016 in Camdenton United Methodist Church under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m., Tuesday in the church. Graveside services and burial will be at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday in Spring Hill Cemetery, Parsons, Kansas. Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Dogwood Animal Shelter or Hospice Compassus or a charity of the donor’s choice and left at the funeral home or the church the day of the service. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
