Debra Kay Dawson was born May 29th, 1955 in Rock Island, Illinois to Richard and Jo Anne Nelson. The Lord called her home on September 8th, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City, Missouri. She is preceded in death by her parents and one son, Jesse Dee. Debra is survived by her husband Lynn of twenty-eight years, her daughter Amber Burk and husband Jason of Sparta, Missouri, her two sons, Mickey Davidson and wife Jesse of Springfield, Missouri, and Ryan Swemline and wife Anna of Los Angeles, California, one stepdaughter Brandy Kay and husband Donny of Westminster, Colorado, one stepson Tyrel Dawson and wife Kristen of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, along with thirteen grandchildren, two sisters, Amanda Fisher of Glendale, West Virginia, and Brenda Jo Nelson of Godfrey, Illinois, one brother Michael Nelson and wife Cindy of Wonderful Lake, Illinois, and one nephew Dane Nelson of Muskego, Wisconsin. Debby went back to school as an adult and graduated from Missouri State University at the age of 38 with a degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology. She worked as a para professional for 20 years in the Macks Creek and Camdenton School District. She volunteered at the Share the Harvest Food Pantry in Greenview. Debby was saved as a young woman and served as an active member of Myetta Missionary Baptist Church. Her greatest love was the Lord, followed by her children and her grandchildren. Debby was a compassionate and caring friend to many. Many experienced the love of the Lord through her servants’ heart as she was always so quick to help anyone in need. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, traveling, and tending to her flowers. She will truly be missed but never forgotten. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 13, 2021 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri. Burial will follow in Myetta Cemetery, Camdenton. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society and left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
