Dennis Dean Hock, 70, of Climax Springs, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on July 22, 2026, following an acute brain bleed.

Dennis was born on February 8, 1956, in Kansas City, Missouri, to John and Zola Hock. He was baptized at his family’s Presbyterian church near Ruskin High School and graduated from Ruskin High School in 1974, where he enjoyed playing football and baseball. On summer weekends, his family spent time at the lake where he became an avid slalom as well as barefoot skier! From an early age, Dennis was known for his strong work ethic, working after school to save enough money to purchase his first car.

Dennis spent his career as a painting contractor and proudly owned his own business until retiring in 2021. His commitment to quality earned his company recognition as the Kansas City Home Builders Association’s Best Painting Contractor in 2019.

In 2004, Dennis met the love of his life, Michele Renee Hock, while painting her newly built home. What began as a chance meeting quickly grew into a lifelong partnership. They were married on September 9, 2006, and shared nearly 20 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and their deep love for one another. Dennis was the proud father of Dena, Kerri, Lauren & Alexander, and Michele was the proud mother of Hollyann and Brooke.

In 2023, Dennis and Michele moved to the Lake of the Ozarks, where they enjoyed life together in her family’s lake home. He loved spending time with family, making people laugh, and could often be found watching his favorite episodes of Two and a Half Men. In 2025, they began attending New Beginnings Church in Camdenton, where they continued to grow in their faith. Dennis believed in Jesus Christ and found comfort in His promises. He looked forward to the day he would be reunited in Heaven with his beloved son, Alexander (“Zander”), whom he loved deeply. His faith gave him peace and confidence in the promise of eternal life.

Dennis never met a stranger. He welcomed people without judgment, made friends wherever he went, and was always ready to lend a helping hand. He loved his children and grandchildren deeply and was incredibly proud of each of them. Those who knew him will remember his generous spirit, quick smile, and the genuine kindness he extended to everyone he met.

Dennis was preceded in death by his son, Alexander (“Zander”) Hock; his parents, John Anton Hock and Zola Brumley Hock, and his parents-in-law, DeRoy and Sharon Rogge.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Michele Renee Hock; his brother, Kenny (Sharon) Hock; his children, Dena (Ryan) Hess, Kerri (Cesar) Yanes, Lauren (Derek) Cloughley, Hollyann (Trent) Brown-Crowder, and Brooke (Jacob) Moorhead; and his cherished grandchildren, Amaya Yanes, Isa (Brennen) van Breusegen, Luka Yanes, Kora Yanes, Drake Hess, Dawson Hess, Derek Jr. Cloughley, Dreyden Cloughley, Demi Cloughley, Lane Crowder, Sabel Crowder, Tristan Moorhead, and Hannah Moorhead.

Dennis also leaves behind many dear friends from his school years, career, and retirement who all remember him fondly. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at New Beginnings Church, 97 Munro St., Camdenton, MO 65020. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Greenview Elks Lodge, 1460 N. State Highway 7, Camdenton, MO 65020 with light snacks.
