Donna Faye Vermillion, daughter of Paul Harvey and Ruby Neoma Bivins Harsen, was born March 7, 1947 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She departed this life Tuesday, May 31, 2016 in her home, at the age of sixty-nine years, two months, and twenty-four days. On September 17, 1966, Donna was united in marriage to Harry Lee Vermillion and to this union two children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry, on September 30, 2011; her parents; and two sisters, Linda Harsen and Theresa Endres. Survivors include her children, Matthew Ray Vermillion and wife Martha, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Christie Niccole Vermillion husband, Mark, of Camdenton, Missouri; grandsons, Harold Lee Vermillion, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Dustin Vermillion, of Camdenton, Missouri, and Curtis Stutesman, of Nevada, Missouri; two sisters, Kathryn Jane Johnston and husband Patrick, of Coffeyville, Kansas, and Jeanne Masters and husband Daryl, of Jourdanton, Texas; a brother, Ronald Paul Harsen and wife Thelma, of Waskom, Texas; as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends. Donna spent her childhood in Broken Arrow and was a graduate of Broken Arrow High School in the Class of 1965. While in high school, Donna was active in band, and played the Flute with the marching band. Following their marriage, Donna and Harry spent time living in Broken Arrow and Dallas, Texas. They moved to Camdenton in 1999 to make their home. Donna was a gifted musician and enjoyed playing the flute, piano, and organ in her spare time. She also loved her Bible study,crocheting, tatting, netting, and doing oil and tole paintings. Reading, sewing, photography, and bowling were some of her other hobbies. Donna enjoyed life to the fullest. Donna had worked as a bookkeeper and an accountant for most of her adult life. She had also worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a rural route sub for five years. Donna was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the many memories she has created for her family and friends.
