Edward Ervin Ford, 69, of Independence, Missouri passed away on July 4, 2023, in Osage Beach, Missouri.

Ed was born in Kansas City, Missouri to Vivian Marie (Bryan) Ford on June 17, 1954. He is preceded in death by his mother, one brother Thomas Ford, and one sister Eula Mae Clevenger.


He is survived by his wife, Susan Ford of the home, his beloved niece who he considered a daughter Jennifer Donnell, her husband Robert Donnell, his grandchildren Tanner Donnell, Addison Donnell (all of Tampa, FL), his brother Ronald Ford (Independence, MO), and his sisters Anna Faye Ford (Lakeport, CA), Kaye Mathis (Independence, MO), and Judith Brocksmith (Sedalia, MO). He is also survived by several special nieces and nephews.


On December 23, 1972, he married his high school sweetheart at First Baptist Church in Kansas City, Missouri. In 2022, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary by visiting their 50th state, Hawaii and completing a long-term bucket list.

After graduating high school in 1972 he enlisted in the United States Air Force and courageously served four years. He returned to Kansas City, Missouri and began his career at General Motors before finishing his career at Victaulic for over 20 years.


He proudly served as a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts of America for over 30 years focusing on special needs troops. He was a long-standing member of Eastside Church in Independence, Missouri as well as the Fraternal Order of Eagles.


Upon his retirement seven years ago, he got to focus all his time on the things he loved. He thoroughly enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time at his lake house in Sunrise Beach, Missouri, enjoying family, and traveling with the love of his life, Susie. His most favorite time was cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs as a season ticket holder and especially watching their latest two Superbowl victories.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Boy Scout Troop 229 of Independence, MO or the East Side Church of Independence, MO.


Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home.
