GRETTA MAE DENNY Gretta Mae Denny, daughter of Fon Emil and Maude Etta Forbes Moreland, was born May 25, 1940 in Camden County, Missouri. She departed this life Saturday, August 23, 2014 in Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach, Missouri, at the age of seventy-four years, two months, and twenty-nine days. On March 23, 1972, Gretta was united in marriage to Densil Ray Denny, and together they have shared the past forty-two years. Gretta was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother; a son, Densil R. Denny, Jr.; and a granddaughter, Kristen Hufferd. She is survived by her husband, Densil, of the home; children, Debra Eidson and husband Carl, of Branch, Missouri, Joy Hufferd and husband Mike, of Macks Creek, Missouri, Joyce Ice and husband Lonnie, of Camdenton, Missouri, and Samuel Denny and wife Wendy, of Camdenton, Missouri; grandchildren, Charles Eidson, Nichole Halsey and husband Greg, Johnna Franks, Michael Hufferd and wife Amy, Amber Franks, Christie Hines, Brandy Shrauger and husband Justin, Billy Franks, Carlyn Arnold and husband David, Senjan Denny, Daniel Denny, Toddy Denny, Hailey Denny, Melanie Denny, Noah Denny, and Samson Denny; great-grandchildren, Kaylyne, Zachary, Trenton, Jordan, Danica, Aaron, Matthew, Ellie, Taylor, and Emma; brother-in-law, Dennis Denny; sisters-in-law, Joanne Hall and husband Floyd, Colleen Hall and husband Gilbert, and Carol Ferry and husband Bob; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and many friends. Gretta was born and raised on the family farm South of Camdenton. She was a graduate of Camdenton High School in the Class of 1958. She owned and operated Little Rascals Daycare for over thirty years until retiring to spend time with her family. Following her marriage to Densil, Gretta moved to Camdenton and remained there until her passing. Gretta was saved at an early age and was a lifelong member of the Myetta Missionary Baptist Church. In her spare time, Gretta enjoyed working in her garden and tending to her flowers. She was very proud of her garden had won the "Most Beautiful Lawn" award from the Garden of the Month Club in Camdenton. Her grandchildren were very important to her and she cherished the time spent with them. Gretta was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories she has left for us. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.m., Wednesday, August 27, 2014 in Myetta Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Myetta Cemetery, Camdenton. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday in the church. Memorial donations may be made to Myetta Missionary Baptist Church and left at the funeral home. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
