Hal B Coleman

Hal Berrien Coleman, son of Harry R and Marie Isabella (Menkens) Coleman, was born February 13, 1925 in St. Louis County, Missouri. He departed this life on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at Lake Regional Hospital at the age of one hundred years, two months and fourteen days.

Hal was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters Jackie and Judy; and a brother, Charles Lee.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Coleman of the home; his children, Craig Coleman and wife Vicki of St. Louis, Missouri, Roger Dale Laramore and wife Marie of Daytona Beach, Florida, Tim Coleman and wife Barbara of Camdenton, Missouri, Tracy Galbierz and husband Dan of Camdenton, Missouri; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.

Hal was a graduate of Kirkwood High School. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country from 1943 to 1946 and retired as Lieutenant Commander. Following his honorable discharge, Hal enrolled in the Washington University School of Law. Hal would devote his working life to practicing law and retired after forty-three years.

Once retired, Hal promptly moved to the Lake of the Ozarks where he enjoyed boating, fishing and hunting. Hal always said he would live to be one-hundred years old, and he did! Hal made the best of every day and truly enjoyed his life.

Hal was attending Walk on Water Faith Church at the time of his passing.

He was a member of Optimist International for many years and had served as Past Vice-President of the International organization as well as Governor of the Missouri Optimist.

In his spare time, Hal enjoyed reading, watching sports, and spending time with his family and friends.

Hal was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories he has created for his family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, June 6, 2025 at Walk on Water Church, Osage Beach, Missouri. A small reception will be held following the service at the church.
