Janet Kay Jungels, daughter of John Schmidt and Helen Widmer, was born July 7, 1948 in Moberly, Missouri. She departed this life, October 3, 2026, in Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of seventy-eight years, two months and twenty-six days.

On September 19, 1970 she was united in marriage to James Jungels, DO and to this union two children were born. Together they shared forty-eight years of marriage.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Dr. James Jungels.

She is survived by her daughter, Marianne Jungels-Norris and husband Joel of Gainesboro, Tennessee; son, Jay Jungels of Camdenton, Missouri; grandsons, Morgan Jungels, Joel Jungels-Norris IV, and John Jungels-Norris; grand-daughters, Jane Jungels-Norris, Jill Jungels-Norris, and Patiena C. Norris; relatives and many friends.

Janet was raised and attended school in Moberly and moved to Camdenton with James in 1989.

Janet was a devoted parishioner of St Anthony Catholic Church in Camdenton for thirty-seven years and sang in the choir.

In her spare time gardening, singing and she particularly loved teaching enough to make it her profession. She taught preschool for over 20 years.

She was a loving and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends.
