Jayden Leanna Butterfield, daughter of James and Ashley Butterfield, was born October 15, 2003, in Osage Beach, Missouri. She departed this life Friday, February 21, 2025 at the age of twenty-one years, four months and six days.
She is survived by her mother, Ashley Butterfield of Camdenton, Missouri; her father, James Butterfield, of Climax Springs, Missouri; her siblings, Daphne Butterfield and Tyrus Butterfield, both of Climax Springs; her grandparents, Donna and Bob Baxter of Climax Springs, Missouri, Shelley Holliday of Laurie, Missouri and Monte and Michelle Williamson, of Gladstone, Missouri; her life partner, Zachary Cline, of Iberia, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends.
She was a member of Cornerstone Community Church and had accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior in 2016.
Jayden grew up in Climax Springs and was a graduate of Climax Springs High School where she excelled in basketball and softball. Basketball was a big part of her life and she was a four-time All-District Basketball player. Jayden also graduated Cum Laude and had completed the A+ program during her time as a student.
Jayden’s love for working with children began while she was enrolled in the A+ program during her high school years. She knew then that working with young students was something she wanted to spend her life doing. She worked previously as a paraprofessional/teacher at Children’s Learning Center and her love for teaching children grew even more. After her time at Children’s Learning Center, she was given the opportunity to be a paraprofessional for the kindergarten class at her hometown school of Climax Springs. Her love, passion for teaching, patience and kindness shined very bright every single day. She knew this was God’s plan for her life.
Jayden also taught herself sign language, so she was able to teach some of her students that had special needs and assist in growing communication with them. She was very proud of that accomplishment and knew it was making a difference in her kindergartener’s lives. She would at times share those milestones made due to learning and teaching sign language to her kids and you could see her face light up and have the biggest smile. Her love for her students was unparalleled.
Jayden had met the love of her life, Zachary Cline in the summer of 2023 and the two planned to marry in the future. They spent every day together and their love for one another was beautiful. She also had another love that she always held close to her heart and that was her dog, Newt. Her grandma Donna adopted him for Jayden when she was eight years old and the two were inseparable.
From competitive games of HORSE, Mario Kart and Just Dance to her endless love and support of their accomplishments and achievements, Jayden’s love for her siblings was beautiful to watch. She was a great big-sister. Recently Jayden, along with Ava, had been coaching youth basketball together and they cherished sharing their love for the sport with the next generation.
Although her time with us was short, Jayden left a legacy of love and compassion for everyone involved in her life. We will treasure the many wonderful memories she has created for us and will continue to celebrate her life through the continuous stores that will be shared forever.
