He is survived by his loving wife Marcia (Peterson) Elmore, and two daughters, Cori Samanda and Kylene and a loving son-in-law, Kenny Brasier; a brother, Jarvis Elmore and wife Connie; a sister, Rose Smith and husband Gene; three grandchildren, Jae and Jon Reynolds, and Kailey Rohlfing; three great-grandchildren, Aubree and Braelynn Bailey, and Noah Reynolds. John was born on December 1, 1941, the youngest child in a family of five. At an early age, he discovered a love of music and singing. In his teens, he sang with several bands and performed as a vocalist around the Joliet and Chicago, Illinois area. He made several records, and had a large Illinois fan club with friend and manager Rudy Varju by his side. In later years, John and Marcia worked at Electric Motors. They bought a bar and grill in Kinsman , Illinois in 1993 and named it Papa John’s. They owned it for ten years until retirement when they went South to Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri and made it home for the next twelve years. The later years were filled with fun and loving support of lots of family and friends. Johnny was a founding member of the Fog Club and was a Viking at the Nex-Door Bar and Grill. A celebration of Life for Johnny will be held at Nex-Door Bar and Grill on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. 1665 N. State Highway 5, Camdenton, Mo. 65020. Please join the family in celebrating his wonderful life and share a story or two, no matter how big or small. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Judes Children’s Hospital would be appreciated. God saw you were getting tired and a cure was not to be, so he put his arms around you and whispered, “Come to Me,” with tearful eyes we watched you and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
