John K. Telfer

John Kenneth Telfer, son of Alexander Russell and Janice Claire Classen Telfer, was born June 3, 1958 in Morris, Illinois. He departed this life Sunday, June 18, 2017 in Kansas City, Missouri, at the age of fifty-nine years and fourteen days. His mother, Janice Claire Telfer, preceded John in death. John is survived by his son, Adam Telfer and wife Kelly, of Kansas City, Missouri; his grandson, Lincoln Telfer; father, Alexander Russell Telfer, Jr., and wife Connie DeTuerk, of Citrus Springs, Florida; two sisters, Debra Klegman and husband Jersey, of Coal City, Illinois, and Sally Modica, of Marshfield, Missouri; the love of his life, Rebecca Ramsey, of the home; and her children, Timothy Ramsey, of Macks Creek, Missouri, Melissa Price and husband Anthony of Phillipsburg, Missouri, and Kimberly Dampier and husband Matt, of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends. John spent his early years living in Illinois and was a graduate of Joliet High School in the Class of 1976. Shortly after graduation, John moved to Camdenton and started his career at Wal-Mart. He worked through the ranks and served as Assistant District Manager for a number of years. John retired from Wal-Mart and later returned as an Assistant Store Manager. In total, John had devoted thirty-five years of service to Wal-Mart. As an infant, John was baptized into the Lutheran Church and was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Camdenton for many years. John was a car enthusiast and enjoyed watching NASCAR and NHRA whenever he could. His prized possession was his 1959 Chevrolet. John also loved music and had attended many concerts throughout the years. John was a loving father, grandfather, brother, son and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories he has created for his family and many dear friends. Memorial Services will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday, June 23, 2017 in the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until time of service Friday in the Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton.
