LESTER BURNS Lester Ray Burns, son of Luther and Leona Mae McGuire Burns, was born, March 18, 1940 in Camden County, Missouri. He departed this life, Thursday, August 6, 2015, in Windsor Estates Care Center, Camdenton, Missouri at the age of seventy-five years, four months and nineteen days. He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Derek Commenator; two brothers, Clarence Burns and Glen Burns; a sister, Clora Mae Webb and two sons-in-law, Byron “Dale” Waters and Kenneth Waller. Survivors include his children, Frances Marston and husband Lucky of Chouteau, Oklahoma, Patricia Waller of Springfield, Missouri, John Burns of Camdenton, Missouri, Peggy Molton and husband Kevin of Camdenton, Missouri and Kimberly Garrison and husband David of Camdenton, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Linda Waters of Camdenton, Missouri, Todd Curtis of Springfield, Missouri, Karissa Burns and Kelsey Burns both of Calhoun, Missouri, Julia Mann, Nathan Mann and wife Erika, Kristian Burns, Cody Burns, Brittany Ware and Zachary Garrison all of Camdenton, Missouri; a great-grandchild on the way; three siblings, Martha Heimbeaugh and husband Sonny and Jeanie Webster and husband Junior all of Camdenton, Missouri and J.D. Burns and wife Fern of Eldridge, Missouri and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Lester was raised in Laclede County, Missouri and attended Marple School. He was an automobile mechanic and owned Burns Garage in Camdenton. Lester was saved at an early age and was a member of Ira Missionary Baptist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling, going to the river where he liked to go fishing and camping. He enjoyed working on cars and trucks. He loved drinking an ice cold Coke straight out of the freezer. Most of all, time spent with his family brought him joy. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. He touched many lives and his memory will linger on in the hearts of those who know and loved him. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 10, 2015 in Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mt. Horeb Cemetery, Decaturville. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m., Sunday in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the family and left at the funeral home. Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
