LuAnn M Grassel, daughter of James Lyman Stafford and Evelyn (Klawitter) Stafford, was born, August 14, 1943 in Litchfield, Minnesota. She departed this life, October 21, 2025, in Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of eighty-two years, two months and seven days.

In April of 1969 at Arndahl Lutheran Church, Grove City Minnesota, she was united in marriage to Robert Grassel. Together they shared fifty-six years of marriage. During this time, they were blessed with the privilege to adopt their two daughters, Stacie and Holly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Lyman Stafford and Evelyn (Klawitter) Stafford; and sister, Mardel (Stafford) Bents.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Grassel; two daughters, Stacie and Holly; brother, Laurel Stafford and wife, Cheryl; sister, Joleen (Stafford) Miller and husband, Bruce, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

LuAnn was raised in Grove City, Minnesota, where she graduated high school. Following her graduation, LuAnn attended Minnesota School of Business, where she completed the Private Secretarial Course. She then worked various secretarial jobs in Minneapolis from 1963 to 1969. Over the next seventeen years, LuAnn and Robert lived in Fargo, North Dakota, Bismarck, North Dakota, Mankato, Minnesota, and Jefferson City, Missouri. While in Jefferson City, LuAnn worked for a Sales Director for Mary Kay Cosmetics, until they moved to St. Louis in 1991. LuAnn worked for the Rockwood School District at the Gifted Program; she went on to retire as the Lead Secretary in 2005. Following their retirement, the couple moved to The Lake of the Ozarks, where they would reside together until her passing.

LuAnn made a profession of faith and was a member of various Lutheran Churches, while attending Arndahl (Grove City) LuAnn was the piano/ organist, and the choir director at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Jefferson City, Missouri.

In her spare time LuAnn enjoyed reading, taking boat rides on the lake, sitting on the deck with her husband watching the activity on the lake, volunteering at the food pantry and quilting.

She was a loving and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends.

A celebration of life will be from 4:00- 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home.

Memorial donations may be made to Share the Harvest (Greenville) and left at the funeral home.
