Marilyn Joyce 'Momma' Wideman

Mrs. Marilyn Joyce (Lewis) Wideman, 77 of Eldon, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday morning, July 1, 2015 at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, Missouri. She was born on March 24, 1938 in St. Clair, Missouri at home to Lee and Hilda (Emmons) Lewis. Marilyn had two younger sisters, Sherry and Kathy. She was married to her high school sweetheart Calvin Wideman and blessed with three sons; Kelly, Kerry and Lyle. Marilyn worked at the International Shoe Factory, and the R & R Center/Ace Hardware Department store in St. Clair, Missouri all the while traveling around from campgrounds to bluegrass festivals, singing with the Wideman Family (formerly known as “The Wideman Gospel Heirs”), playing/singing Gospel Music for many many years before moving to the Lake of the Ozarks to pursue the Family dream to open a Country Music Show. She loved life and loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Known to everyone she met as “Momma”. She loved the Lord with all of her being and was a mighty, mighty prayer warrior. She was a devoted member of Walk on the Water Faith Church in Osage Beach, Missouri. Marilyn will be greatly missed and long remembered by all those who knew and loved her. "We love you to Jesus and back" Surviving by her husband Calvin Wideman; her loving children, Kelly and wife Teresa Wideman of Sarasota, Florida, Kerry and Julie Wideman of Eldon, Missouri and Lyle and Dana Wideman of St. Peters, Missouri and her adopted daughter, Sandy Wilmering. She is further survived by her sisters, Sherry and husband Leon Wideman of Washington, Missouri and Kathy and husband Forrest Bruce of Wright City, Missouri; her four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Hilda Lewis and grandparents, Vern and Edna Emmons and Jerry and Myrtle Lewis. There will be a “Celebration of Life” memorial service at Walk on the Water Faith Church, Monday July 6, 2015 at starting 2pm.
