Milton Armstead Dodson III, son of Milton Armstead Dodson II and Jessie Mae Smith Dodson, was born, January 22, 1943 in Brownsville, Texas. He departed this life, Monday, March 29, 2010, in his home, Linn Creek, Missouri at the age of sixty-seven years, two months and seven days. In March of 1967, he was united in marriage to Mary Elnora Burton. Together they shared the past forty-two years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Milton Armstead Dodson IV, two brothers, Steven Allen Dodson and Michael Farrell Dodson and a sister, Patricia Ann Stuut. Survivors include his wife, Mary Dodson of Linn Creek, Missouri; five children, Mary Jennings of Jacksonville, Florida, Marshall Blakley and wife Yolanda of Houston, Texas, Michelle Olson and husband Sam of Springfield, Missouri, Monica Dodson of Camdenton, Missouri and Marsha Harrington and husband Kevin of Linn Creek, Missouri; twenty grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Milton was raised in Houston, Texas and attended school there. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. After being discharged from the military, he lived in San Diego, California for a time before returning to Houston, Texas. He worked as a welder and a pipe fitter. He retired to the lake area four years ago. He was a Nascar and an NFL fan. Most of all, he loved his family and spending time with them. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. A private family service will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton.
